I bought a stock three days ago that was recommended by the Wealth Builders Club. It has already hit my desired gain of 5%. Should I sell now, or hold out in case the stock keeps rising?

In my case I would take the 5% and consider another investment.
I try not to get into the habit of predicting the market, because nobody can.
Plus since it’s already hit your desired return, I recommend sticking with your strategy.

As a Wealth Builders Club member, you have the convenience of receiving new emails every day with opportunities of good companies at bargain prices. Therefore, if you sell today, there is a good chance that tomorrow you will be presented with another good company at an even better bargain price.

This is a common occurrence that many investors face. Their stock will go up 5% or meet their desired return, then they get greedy and feel like making more.
The market does what it does and falls back down. Now they lost that “bird in hand” and have to wait until the stock price goes back up.

Try to be disciplined. Make your decisions before you have to make a decision.
If you say that 5% is what you want to get out of stock XYZ, then stick with it. Take yourself and your emotions out of the equation.
Set your limit orders and stick to your plan.

In the long run, you’ll be better off.
Don’t get into the “prediction game”.

Later, you’ll get a feel for which stocks are fast movers and which are slow movers. Thus, you can adjust your strategy to sell at 2.5% for the slow movers and closer to 5% on the fast movers if you wish.

One way to do this is to look at the last 30-days chart or 1-month chart of a stock. If the stock tends to repeatedly go up and down 5% and more in one month, then it’s likely a fast mover. If it only goes up and down about 2.5% or less per month then it’s likely a slow mover.

I hope this info is helpful for you 🙂
